Beck Covers "Cars" With Gary Numan at Riot Fest

Beck closed out the second night of Riot Fest with a bang on Saturday (September 15) when he brought out the iconic Gary Numan to perform his '70s hit "Cars." Numan was in the Chicago festival lineup earlier in the day to support his 2017 album Savage (Songs from a Broken World).

The singer-songwriter is a known fan of the English musician and record producer, having incorporated "Cars" into his live shows since the beginning of his Colors tour.

Weezer also played a special song during their Riot Fest set on Saturday. The alt-rockers paid tribute to blink-182 with an enthused performance of their hit "All the Small Things." The pop punk idols were supposed to play the festival themselves but were forced to cancel that appearance, along with the rest of their tour, due to drummer Travis Barker's medical complications.

“The past few months have just sucked as I have been sidelined just waiting for my doctors to clear me so I could get back on the road and perform with my band,” Barker explained in a regrettable note of the cancellation. “Unfortunately, the risks associated with drumming are still too great. I am doing everything I need to do so I can get back on the road as soon as possible. I want to thank my fans, family, friends and bandmates for all the love and support.”
