Travis Barker Sues Over Bus Accident & Procedure That Led To Medical Issues

Travis Barker is reportedly suing the medical center he claims is liable for the ongoing medical issues that have prevented him from playing with blink-182.

In the lawsuit obtained by TMZ Tuesday (September 18), the 42-year-old cites The Medical Imaging Center in Santa Monica for medical malpractices stemming from a routine MRI he received back in June as part of his upcoming tour with the band. The procedure required sedation, however, Barker alleges doctors stuck him with a dirty needle at least 40 times, resulting in a staph infection.

Additionally, the outlet reports the drummer has taken legal action against the bus company and the bus driver who made the illegal left turn that caused a severe school bus collision in July which left him with "life-changing" injuries.

Since then, the "All the Small Things" musician has endured "nerve damage, damage to his veins and a staph infection" that's sidelined him from playing gigs with Blink and kept him from living a normal life.

The suit comes weeks after the rockers were forced to cancel their fall tour after Barker's medical staff deemed him unfit to perform.

“The past few months have just sucked as I have been sidelined just waiting for my doctors to clear me so I could get back on the road and perform with my band,” Barker wrote in a message to fans at the time. “Unfortunately, the risks associated with drumming are still too great.”

Barker has not specified the amount he's demanding in damages, though TMZ notes his son Landon, 14, is also named in the lawsuit.
