Is Brendon Urie Developing His Own Musical?

Aside from selling out concerts around the world, Brendon Urie can also sell out shows on Broadway. In May of 2017, the Panic! At The Disco frontman made his Broadway debut when he played the role of Charlie Price in Kinky Boots, and from the sounds of it he's not done making his mark on the world of theatre.

As Kerrang! points out, Urie recently told The Sun that he's interested in developing his own musical for both Broadway and the cinema.

“I’ve been talking to a couple of movie directors about film music ideas and about doing musical theatre, Broadway maybe,” he explained. “The ideal [scenario] would be to write music for an idea somebody else has come up with. I talked about doing my origin story, growing up in Vegas, so we will see what happens.”

The singer has also been interacting with Lin-Manuel Miranda on Twitter lately, which is a good sign. "I am not throwing away my shot…I look great in old-timey clothes you know?" he replied after the Hamilton creator tweeted a GIF of Urie in his "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" get up in response to a fan asking when his Panic! At The Disco collaboration was happening.

Check out the tweet below and keep an eye out for a Brendon Urie-helmed musical.
