Every year Dictionary.com releases the word of the year, a word that defines the past 365 days, if you will.
This year the word is..... drumroll please,
misinformation.

Dictionary.com stated on Twitter that the runners up for 2018s Word Of The Year were "representation", "self-made" and "backlash".
I think all pretty accurately described 2018, but I have to agree that misinformation takes the cake.
